Amanda Wilkins – Principal, FISTD Examiner, RAD Teaching Cert.

Amanda teaches and has been Principal to the Kilburn School of Dance in Wellingborough since 1989. Teaching ISTD Classical Greek, Modern, National and RAD Ballet. She examines in Classical Greek which is her passion encouraging musicality, expression and fluidity to all dance – She is also committee member for this genre. She has lectured for the Classical Greek Faculty at the Laban Centre and Royal Ballet School. Her pupils have appeared in ISTD graded DVD's for both Greek and National.

Besides the general running of the school, Amanda teaches classes at all levels, as well as entering pupils for competitions, ie; Ruby Ginner and All England Dance, frequently reaching finals standard and achieving medals on many occasions. One of her groups was even chosen to dance at the first ever Dance Prom at the Royal Albert Hall.

Recently a second Classical Greek Group was chosen to dance at the Dance Prom at the Royal Albert Hall.

Siobhan Ball

Siobhan studied Performing Arts at Melton and went onto fulfil her dream working professionally as a musical theatre actress for many years. Her credits include West End, UK tours and Voice over work for Childrens television including the famous Sooty Show on CBBC.

She has been Vocal Coaching for 5 years now and continues to perform locally at various functions and at the Little Theatre in Leicester.

She thoroughly enjoys working at Kilburn and what she finds most satisfying is watching a child’s confidence grow as they find their voice.

Kerry Buckby diplsc, istdcde.

Kerry started dancing as a child at the Kilburn School of Dancing and then went on to the London Studio Centre where she studied contemporary, ballet, tap and specialised in musical theatre. After enjoying her time working on cruise ships, pop videos, commercials she gained her Teaching Associates in Tap, Modern, National and Ballet. Kerry teaches full time at the Kilburn School of Dancing teaching Tap, Modern and Jazz. She also teaches GCSE work in secondary schools. In her 12 years of teaching she has furthered her qualifications and her primary modern children were chosen to demonstrate for the ISTD modern DVD. Kerry was delighted when her modern/jazz group was chosen to perform at the Dance Proms 2013.

Emma Hastings

Following training at SLP, Leeds Emma returned to Wellingborough. She then married and has a very young family, which enables her to assist when teachers are on examining duties and coach for exams and competitions.

Fiona Sheehan MABA (hons) LRAD FISTD Examiner of the RAD

Following training at the College of the Royal Academy of Dance and Laban Centre, London, Fiona teaches locally to Advanced 2 level in Ballet, Modern, Classical Greek and National.

Her pupils have successfully auditioned for places at various vocational schools including White Lodge, the Royal Ballet Upper School and English National Ballet School. She examines worldwide for the Royal Academy of Dance.

She is a member of the Dance Research Committee of the ISTD and has also taught at the Royal Ballet School, Royal Academy of Dance and lectured for the Classical Greek Faculty.

Robina Smith FISTD Examiner3

Robina trained at London College of Dance. She has taught on Higher Education courses, specialising in Folk dancing, at Middlesex University, De Montfort University, Buckingham University and at the Royal Academy of Dance.

She is an examiner for the National Faculty and is also a member of the National Faculty Committee.

Robina has many pupils appearing on the National DVD's and coaches to teaching levels (DDE).

Lucy Wilson

Lucy studied Tap, Ballet, Modern, National, Greek, Drama, Singing, and Acro for 15 years at Dupont Dance Stage School. She successfully competed in numerous dance festivals throughout England including the All England dance finals, and performed in the All England gala performance.

As well as annual dance school performances she performed in various shows such as Dracula Rock Show, Pat Keelings Fashion Shows, Joseph and His Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, Georges Hair Shows, Copacabana, and for various charity events.

Turning her love for dance to teaching in 2006 teaching free classes and choreography. Lucy furthered her training at The Dance College completed the ISTD Diploma in Dance Education in Modern Theatre, Tap and National Folk Dance.

After college she spent a year in Kenya teaching RAD and ISTD syllabus at a dance academy and local academic schools. We welcome Lucy to Kilburn teaching National classwork and modern junior classes.
