Our Teachers

Amanda Wilkins
Miss Amanda Wilkins

Amanda teaches and has been Principal to Kilburn since 1989. She coaches RAD Ballet Grades & ISTD Modern, National and Classical Greek. Whilst she loves teaching all subjects Classical Greek is her passion encouraging musicality, flow of movement and artistic expression as well as technique.  As a committee member and examiner for up to Advanced 2 levels she is involved in promoting Greek around the country with workshops and examinations.  

Amanda absolutely loves training her pupils and aims for every single one to reach their personal best in whatever they do. Over the years she has helped pupils achieve success in class, exams, competitions, ISTD Bursary Awards, Dance World Cup, All England Dance, Dance Proms; Royal Albert Hall, Royal Ballet Associates, White Lodge Royal Ballet School to name but a few!  

She has also the pleasure of seeing pupil after pupil go onto full time dance training and make a career of something they have enjoyed as a child either as a teacher or performer. The icing on the cake is when they return to the school to either teach, do workshops or just for a chat, it’s always a great pleasure and how lovely it will be if your son or daughter do exactly the same.

Jack Buchanan
Mr Jack Buchanan

Jack trained at Bird College, Sidcup and has recently moved into the area. He has started teaching modern classes as well as doing jazz and choreography within the school. His credits include Mungojerrie in Cats and recently as a dancer in Plymouth Pantomime. Welcome to our team Jack.

Daniel Fullard
Dan Fullard

Daniel Fullard, professionally known as ‘Danyul’ is a professional dancer, choreographer and model from Northampton. He danced as a young boy and at only 10 years old he landed his first TV debut on ‘Top of the Pops’ which sparked his very successful career as a dancer.

For several years he trained in London with industry professionals. His training includes; Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop/ Commercial and Musical Theatre. At 15, he landed his own show in Las Vegas with a self-created group made up of his friends called Cartel. Cartel still perform to this day and have extended the brand into a company giving young dancers training and opportunities to compete and showcase talent.

His professional credits include; theatre productions, touring, music videos, film and TV commercials. He has worked alongside; Stormzy, Craig David, Lead on London’s Westend, Netflix - Tim Burton Films, Levi’s, Sony Entertainment, Ministry of Sound, Britains Got Talent, Big Narstie, ASOS, Amazon, ITV, BBC and many more. By aged 20, Danyul had done two world tours which continues to bring him professional work today.

Rebecca-Jane Howe
Miss Rebecca Howe

Rebecca started training at the age of 3 at Kilburn school of Dance successfully competing at All England, Grandison Clark, Jessie Matthews Choreographic, Junior Star time and Ballet Championships. She went onto vocational training at London College of Dance and Bodywork’s at the age of 16 going on to perform in many professional shows, opera, featured in films, tv, modelling and commercials, working with top industry professionals. Rebecca teaches the RAD vocational and upper grades; she loves to use her teaching and choreographic skills to nurture students and stretch them to fulfil their greatest potential. In 2021 her ballet group was awarded gold medal at the Dance World Cup and they performed in the Celebration Gala.

Claire Rice
Miss Claire Rice

Claire started Ballet at the age of 3, joining Kilburn as a young dancer she went on to train professionally in Scotland at Ballet West, graduating with a degree in BA(Hons) Dance. Here she studied Ballet, Contemporary and Jazz and gained her RAD Advanced 2. Claire joined Ballet West’s company and toured productions of The Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet and Swan Lake around Scotland and China. Her professional career continued with ‘The London Ballet Company’ and continued around the UK and abroad. Since then she has gained her RAD Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies in 2019 and has Registered Teacher Status. Claire has been teaching dancers from ages 3 to adults and has loves passing on her passion for Ballet. She has recently added the new ISTD Contemporary syllabi to her teaching skills and hopes she can continue to share her knowledge and experience for many teaching years to come.

Lewis Starr
Mr Lewis Starr

Following his training at Kilburn School Lewis went onto Bird College, London. His professional credits whilst training include; Max Bialiystock in The Producers, George in The Wedding Singer, Porph in Airswimming and as a featured singer across London. Lewis has also performed at the Dance Proms at the Royal Albert Hall.

In 2020 Lewis made his professional debut as ‘John’ in the Italian Tour of Peter Pan and has just completed his time as a lead vocalist onboard the AIDA Perla and AIDA Prima.

Between working professionally, Lewis has found a passion for teaching Singing and Musical Theatre at Kilburn. He loves integrating the current demand from the industry into his teaching and preparing students for the world of theatre. He has also relished working with the new Dang Musical Theatre Syllabi. Lewis says “I am so excited for you to see what our amazing students achieve!

Emma Trimble
Miss Emma Trimble

Emma joined Kilburn School at the age of 7 and enjoyed many competitions until she went on to further training at SLP, Leeds. She returned to the area before having 6 children, 5 of whom dance or danced at Kilburn! Emma enjoys teaching our junior tappers with great results and assists in those final exam preparations with numerous exam coaching.

Lucy Wilson
Miss Lucy Wilson

Lucy has taught our National and junior modern for the past 11 Years.  Prior to teaching for us Lucy attended Dupont School and taught in Kenya as well as performing in local shows and charity events. Lucy is married and has two young children Ziva & Karson. As well as continuing to teach our National Classes Lucy now assists within the Special Needs Classes in Primary Schools.

Robina Gilpin
Robina Gilpin

Robina trained as a young child at Kilburn and then went on to London College of Dance. Now retired; Robina was a highly acclaimed examiner and committee member for the ISTD National Faculty with many pupils performing on the promotional videos. She also coached students to teacher levels around the country and is an expert on her subject.  We are absolutely delighted that she continues to enjoy creating National dances and groups with huge success both at All England Dance and Dance World Cup.
